Materials Circulation Policy

Circulation of Print and Non-Print Materials:

1.       Books and audios are loaned for a period of two weeks, and videos and DVD one week, to any person presenting a valid library card and who is not blocked or barred from borrowing materials.

2.       A maximum of 15 adult books and 10 juvenile books may be borrowed per patron.

3.       A maximum of 5 audio books and 2 videos, and 2 DVDs videos may be borrowed per patron.  Patron will be given seven (7) days to return missing audiocassette, compact disk and/or video before applicable nonrefundable replacement fee is charged.

4.       A maximum of 5 books on one subject may be borrowed per patron.

5.       Items may be renewed 3 times unless another patron requests the item; at that time the item becomes non-renewable.

6.       Items may be renewed over the telephone or online if they are eligible for renewal.

7.       At the discretion of the Director and department managers, materials that are in high demand may be limited to a shorter circulation period or may be placed on in-library reserve during the period of highest demand.

8.       Interlibrary loan materials must be requested and reserved for use with applicable fees payable at the time of pick-up.

9.       28 day GED/ASVAB deposit books must be reserved for use with applicable fee payable at the time of pick-up.

Fines and Fees:

  1. A fine of .20 cents per day per item will be charged for all overdue books and audio books.  The maximum overdue charge per book or audio book is $2.00.
     
  2. A fine of $1.00 per day per item will be charged for overdue videos and DVDs.  The maximum overdue charge per video is $5.00.
     
  3. A fine of .20 cents per day per item will be charged for all overdue interlibrary loan books up to a maximum of $2.00 per item.
     
  4. A deposit fee of $12.00 is charged for 28-day loan GED/ASVAB books.  Fee is refundable when item has been returned on time and without damage.  Deposit receipt and ID is required when refund is made.  A fine of .20 per day will be charged for overdue item up to a maximum of $2.00 and deducted from deposit before refund is issued.
     
  5. Replacement fee for lost and damaged library material and/or equipment will be amount recorded in item record.  A receipt will be issued when item is paid for and library privilege reinstated.  If the item has been lost and is returned within six months of payment, and can be put back in circulation, the paid receipt and id can be presented and a full refund will be made.     
     
  6. All items returned in a damaged condition will be charged according to extent of damage.   Beyond use=full payment; missing barcode=$2.00; missing/torn pocket=$2.00; damaged audio-visual cases=$2.00; damaged/missing audiocassette if replaceable=$8.00; damaged/missing compact disc if replaceable=$10.00.  Fee paid for missing audiocassette and/or compact disc is nonrefundable.
     
  7. Fee for lost or damaged interlibrary loan material will be amount indicated by lending library and is nonrefundable.
