Displays and Bulletin Board Policy
DISPLAYS/EXHIBITSThe Library welcomes non-commercial displays and exhibits that are of general interest to the community. The Library will not advertise a commercial endeavor unless it is specifically related to the goals of the Library. Permanent and/or semi-permanent displays/exhibits must be approved by the Library Board. Temporary displays/exhibits may be scheduled at the discretion of the Library Director. Display/exhibit materials will be given reasonable care and protection within the limits of the general operation of the Library. The Library, the Director, and the Board will not assume responsibility for damage or loss due to theft or breakage of materials while on the premises. The Library will not be responsible for the cost of insurance coverage on the materials. A signed statement of insurance coverage should be provided when the display/exhibit is established; if uninsured, a statement releasing the Library from responsibility will have to be signed by all parties involved. Such costs, losses and/or damages are the responsibility of the organization or individual providing the display/exhibit. Placement of displays/exhibits shall in no way interfere with the normal operations of the Library. Special equipment, cases or furniture for displaying of material is the sole responsibility of the organization or individual providing the display. Library staff is not available for setting up display/exhibit, or transporting display/exhibit into or from the Library. BULLETIN BOARDS Bulletin board display space is provided in the main lobby of the Library for the purpose of information and publicity for Library sponsored programs and community news. Material posted on the community bulletin board will be retained for one month then discarded. No material is accepted contingent upon its return at the end of the month. Materials deemed unacceptable for display by the Library Director and/or Library Board will be removed immediately from display. No organization shall be allowed to monopolize available display space. Permission should be requested before posting any display information on the board. Individuals posting information may not remove previously posted materials in order to display their own material. Only Library staff is allowed to remove material from bulletin board.
