LIBRARY HOURS
At the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, August 21st, the council will be discussing a possible minor change in Library hours. Currently the hours for Tuesdays and Thursdays are 9:00 am-6:00 pm. We have proposed that the hours be changed to 8:00 am-5:00 pm. If anyone has any feedback on these changes, they are encouraged to give that to the Library or attend the council meeting.

Book Club Meeting
The PPL Book Club will meet on Thursday, August 9, at 6:00 pm. The Club will be discussing "The Shell Seekers," and sharing in refreshments. The new book selections will also be available at the meeting.

TEEN MOVIE NIGHT
On Thursday, August 23, at 4:00 pm, the Piedmont Public Library will host a teen movie night to watch THE HUNGER GAMES. All teens and adults are invited, but the Library asks that no young children be in attendance. Snacks and drinks will be provided, and the event is free of charge!

Library Board Meeting
The Piedmont Public Library Board will meet on Tuesday, August 7, at 6:00 pm. The public is encouraged to attend, as the Board will be discussing some possible minor changes to library hours.

LIBRARY SUMMER PROGRAM ENDS
The 2012 Summer Reading Program has ended with very successful numbers! The library had 158 children to sign up, and 120 to complete the program. There were also a total number of 17 special events at the library this year, with a total of over 400 children attending.
