LIBRARY NEWS

The 2010 Summer Reading Program ended July 2nd and was a great success! We had 118 children to register and 89 to finish the program. We had lots of new prizes this year, thanks to all the area businesses who were kindenough to support our library. Every child who completed their 12 books will receive a free t-shirt and Happy Meal certificate. Those may be picked up at the Library. Congratulations to all our winners and everyone who participated in the Program this year!

Do You Have Your
Alabama Virtual Library Card?

The Library is issuing Alabama Virtual Library Cards to all Alabama residents.  This card provides patrons with a username and password that enables them to access full-text databases and encyclopedias on the Internet from home.  These databases provide Alabama citizens with a wealth of information. Originally only accessible through libraries, schools, and colleges, the Alabama Virtual Library Card opens the access through home. A great research and reference tool for students, this card is available at the Circulation Desk of the Library free of charge.

Study for the ACT, SAT, ASVAB, and Civil Service Exams Online!
The Public Library has subscribed to Learn-A-Test for patrons for use in the library and at home. This site allows patrons to take numerous Academic, Civil Service, Military, Real Estate, and Law Enforcement practice exams. Ask a librarian for more information, or click on Learn A Test under "Resources" on this page and sign in as a new user.
